Rachel is in charge of building and expanding our digital community through multifaceted campaigns and fun content that showcases Grand Rapids/Kent County as a must-see destination. A graduate of Michigan State University, she comes to EXGR with experience in social media, marketing and event management, both inside and outside the travel industry.
Rachel is passionate about fostering connections and community through the online world, and has embraced the opportunity to promote Grand Rapids and local businesses through her work. We believe she’s also in the running for the fastest smartphone typist on the planet.
Bio Bits:
- Raves about the Paddock Place Burger, piled high with crispy onions, thick-cut pickles and horseradish sauce, served at the historic mansion/restaurant/event space Paddock Place.
- Visits Eastern Kille Distillery for an occasional Nooner – a cocktail made with jalapeno vodka, cucumber, lime and turbinado.
- Tells hikers to hit the forested trails and floating boardwalk at Pickerel Lake for “gorgeous” views.
Rachel lives with her husband and their pit bull in the hip, happening Eastown neighborhood of Grand Rapids – part of Uptown – where “there are so many cool hidden gems to explore – like Sticky Fingers candy store!”
